Danmarks Nationalbank has concluded Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with both domestic and foreign authorities. The MoU define the framework for Danmarks Nationalbank's cooperation with other authorities in relation to financial stability and crisis management.
In Denmark, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs and the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority are Danmarks Nationalbank's most important partners when it comes to maintaining financial stability and coordinating the management of financial crises. Another key player is the Financial Stability Company which was established with a view to managing the activities of ailing banks.
Cross-border banking activities and establishment of banks entail a risk that a financial crisis within one banking group may affect financial stability in several countries. Consequently, the Nordic and Baltic countries have signed an MoU. Likewise, an MoU on cross-border financial stability was signed by authorities in the EU member states.
