Information on the fixing of exchange rates

Danmarks Nationalbank's exchange rates are based on information from a number of central banks exchanged at a daily concertation procedure arranged by the European Central Bank (ECB), which normally takes place at 2.15 p.m.

Shortly after the concertation procedure has been completed, the exchange rates are published both by the electronic market information providers and on Danmarks Nationalbank's website. The exchange rates are usually available on the website by 2.45 p.m.

Danmarks Nationalbank's fixing of Danish Kroner (DKK) against Euro is based on actual exchanges rates prevailing at the time of the concertation procedure. Danmarks Nationalbank pays due attention to ensuring that the published exchange rates reflect the market conditions prevailing at the time of the daily concertation procedure.

The published exchange rates reflect the average of the bid and offer price prevailing at the time of the daily concertation procedure hence the rates do not necessarily reflect prices at which actual transactions have taken place in the foreign exchange market. Danmarks Nationalbank's exchange rates are published for reference purposes only.

The exchange rate is the price in Danish kroner for 100 units of the foreign currency.

The previously published SDR rates for the period 1 January 2001 - 14 April 2002 have been corrected. The correct rates can be found in Exchange rates for current year (can be found under Related Links to the right).

The CNY rate announced on 15 July 2005 has been amended.

The rate on Icelandic krona set by ECB has been unchanged from 9 October to 5 November 2008. The fixing of Icelandic krona is suspended taking effect as from December 10 2008.
