The portrait of Engelke Charlotte Ryberg, née Falbe, is a detail from the Ryberg family portrait, showing the merchant Niels Ryberg with his son and daughter-in-law in front of Frederikshave (now Hagenskov) manor on the island of Funen. The picture was painted in 1796/97 by Jens Juel (1745-1802). The original is the property of the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen.
The crucian carp is reproduced from a drawing by the illustrator and architect Ib Andersen (1907-69).
