Aarhus City Hall Tower

On 2 December 2002, a 20-krone coin of the same size and alloy as the ordinary 20-krone coin was put into circulation.

Aarhus City Hall Tower has been chosen for the first coin, which is issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the architect Arne Jacobsen, who also designed the Danmarks Nationalbank building. The Aarhus tower is significant and represents the modernist style characteristic of Arne Jacobsen's architecture.

The tower motif was designed by the sculptor and graphic artist Lis Nogel.
