Coins which are not legal tender


  • 1/2-krone coin, minted 1924-40, withdrawn 31 December 1942.
  • 1- and 2-øre coins have not been legal tender since 1 April 1973. Encashed until 30 June 1973.
  • 5- and 10-øre coins have not been legal tender since 1 July 1989. Encashed until 1 July 1992.
  • 25-øre coin have not been legal tender since 1 October 2008. Encashed until 1 October 2011.

All other coins put into circulation after the introduction of the krone as Denmark's currency in 1875 can be exchanged at face value at Danmarks Nationalbank.
