In 2006 a bill was introduced for Greenland to have banknotes with its own motifs, and the Act on Banknotes in Greenland entered into force on 1 June 2007. Miki
Jacobsen has been chosen by the Greenland Home Rule Government to illustrate the Greenlandic banknotes. The draft proposals are expected to be presented to the Home Rule Government in early 2009, and all the denominations are scheduled to be issued at the same time in 2011.
