rates are fixed on the basis of market exchange rates at 2.15 p.m., whereas
formerly they were fixed on the basis of market exchange rates at 11.30 a.m.
However, the SDR exchange rate is not fixed directly on the basis of market
exchange rates, but calculated on the basis of a basket of currencies. This
basket is published by the International Monetary Fund, IMF, and was most
recently amended on 1 January 2001. For a number of currencies only yearly and monthly averages for the most recent years are stated, since the stable solely comprises exchange rates fixed by Danmarks Nationalbank. The structure of the list of exchange rates is changed with effect from 1 January 2002, cf. Danmarks Nationalbank, Annual Report 2001, p.136. 1 Historical yearly and monthly averages for the legacy currencies of the euro area and the weighted ECU based on these currencies, subsequently renamed the euro, are found in Danmarks Nationalbank, Annual Report 2001 and earlier.
