International cooperation


Danmarks Nationalbank participates in international cooperation via a number of international organisations. Among the most important are:

  • The European System of Central Banks, ESCB. Even though Denmark has not adopted the euro, Danmarks Nationalbank is a member of the ESCB, which comprises the European Central Bank, ECB, and central banks of all EU member states.
  • EU. Danmarks Nationalbank participates in EU committees dealing with macroeconomic and financial issues within the EU, including the EU's Economic and Financial Committee, in which Danmarks Nationalbank participates together with the Danish Ministry of Finance.
  • The International Monetary Fund, IMF. Denmark's relations with the IMF are managed by Danmarks Nationalbank in cooperation with the Danish Ministry of Finance.
