Danish euro referendum

On 28 September 2000 a referendum was held on Denmark's adoption of the euro. The proposal was rejected by 53.1 per cent, while 46.9 per cent voted in favour. Consequently Denmark has not adopted the euro, but the krone is still closely linked to the euro via the exchange-rate mechanism, ERM II.
