From rigsdaler to kroner

In 1873 a new Coin Act was introduced, coming into force on 1 January 1875. The unit of coinage was changed from rigsdaler to kroner, and 1 rigsdaler was exchanged for 2 kroner. At the same time the decimal system was introduced, 1 krone being equivalent to 100 øre.
