 New banknote series

On 11 August 2009, Danmarks Nationalbank issued the first banknote – the 50-krone banknote – in a new Danish series. The new series has bridges and prehistoric finds as its motifs and is designed by the artist Karin Birgitte Lund. The new banknote series was issued with a view to enhancing security. New security features in the series include a window thread with a moving wave pattern and a new, sophisticated hologram that reflects light in different colours. The last banknote in the new series, the 1000-krone note, was issued in May 201
