Effective from 20 March 2015, the monetary-policy counterparties' current-accounts limits will be increased from kr. 37 billion to kr. 145 billion.
In determining the current-account limits it is crucial that the monetary-policy counterparties' holdings of certificates of deposits are sufficient to ensure the transmission from the certificate of deposit rate to the money-market rates. In the current situation, an increase in the current-account limits will not affect the transmission.
The banks' deposits of Danish kroner at Danmarks Nationalbank have increased considerably as a consequence of Danmarks Nationalbank's purchase of foreign exchange in the market and the suspension of government bond issuance.
