Exchange of worthless banknotes after the deadline
Older banknotes and 1000-krone banknotes have become worthless and can generally no longer be exchanged at Danmarks Nationalbank. In exceptional circumstances, Danmarks Nationalbank may choose to exchange the banknotes. If you have an active case involving the handing in of worthless banknotes that was created before the deadline expired on 31 May 2026, you will have been notified directly about the next steps.
