IT and Digitalisation

IT and Digitalisation is responsible for ensuring that Danmarks Nationalbank's IT systems are stable and secure. The systems support society-critical payments infrastructure, management of the foreign exchange reserves and government debt, as well as data work that forms the basis for the analyses conducted by Danmarks Nationalbank. Furthermore, IT and Digitalisation are responsible for all business-critical IT systems that support the other business processes and tasks at Danmarks Nationalbank. All of this contributes to Danmarks Nationalbank's work to ensure a robust economy.

Examples of specific tasks that IT and Digitalisation perform:

  • Support for critical payment infrastructure, trade and portfolio management systems, and business-critical data and reporting solutions.

  • Strategic vision and work with new technologies, such as the use of artificial intelligence and the importance of quantum technology.

  • Strategic insight and visibility into the overall IT architecture, including consistent focus on consolidating Danmarks Nationalbank’s IT services onto fewer systems and clean-up to prevent technical debt.

  • Analyses of IT security and cybersecurity of platforms in collaboration with ECB and our IT suppliers.

  • Facilitating compliance with external and internal requirements.

  • Supplier and delivery management for day-to-day IT operations, management and further development.

  • Project work and test management to ensure efficient project execution and quality assurance of IT solutions.

  • Further develop and improve digital tools employees use in their day-to-day work to support a digitally well-run workplace.

  • Further develop analytical tools for both ongoing tasks and innovative analyses to support the need for new data sources and the need for new and computationally intensive methods.

  • Improve employees' digital skills at a time when technology is evolving rapidly – especially in areas such as artificial intelligence – so that the organisation can continue to take advantage of new opportunities in a safe and efficient way.

  • Support and ensure that all bank employees and consultnts have the IT access they need at any given point in their work lifecyle. This is ensured through annual access reviews and documented roles in Omada based on organisationel affiliation.
