Abstract icon Increasing prices and environmental remediation result in revised capital expenditure estimate.

Like other developers, Danmarks Nationalbank has become aware of the price increases following global disruptions to energy supplies, production and trade. This will impact the price of the renovation and restoration work being carried out on Danmarks Nationalbank's building at Havnegade 5. In spring 2022, Danmarks Nationalbank's general contractor revised the construction estimate from October 2020, which at the time totalled kr. 1.5 billion excluding VAT. In revising the estimate, it also made sense to take account of the latest price developments.

The revised estimate for the project is now kr. 1.9 billion excluding VAT. The increase can primarily be explained by general indexation, increasing prices for specific materials and energy, a revised risk profile and a higher degree of environmental remediation due to new legislation. A number of activities in the autumn are expected to possibly affect the estimate and reduce uncertainty, and make it possible to present a revised capital expenditure estimate in early 2023. After that, a budget can be prepared for the entire project.
