Financial statistics
Danmarks Nationalbank collects personal data about the population of Denmark for the purpose of compiling financial statistics.

For this purpose, we collect the following types of personal data:

  1. Pension data: data about savings, contributions and pension firm, as well as identification data, including name, address and CPR number.
  2. Credit data: data about the borrower, including debtor ID, income, default, credit risk measure; information about the loan, including principal amount, rate of interest, redemption profile, loan type, arrears, impairment/write-off; information about collateral for loans, including collateral type, value, where it is deposited; and identification data, including name, address and CPR number.

Such data collection takes place in accordance with section 14a of the Danmarks Nationalbank Act and is necessary for the exercise of our official authority and performance of a task carried out in the public interest (Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR).

The data is processed for as long as required for the compilation of statistics.

The pension data listed under 1 above is collected by our processor, the Danish Tax Agency, after which it is passed on to Statistics Denmark. Danmarks Nationalbank subsequently gains access to the data via Statistics Denmark's researcher scheme, which is described in more detail below.

Credit data listed under 2 above is registered and stored in a credit register. As a security measure, we pseudonymise the data after collection. This means that our staff members who gain access to the credit data for the purpose of preparing statistics and analyses cannot see your name, address and CPR number.

We pass on identification data and data about debt type and creditor institution to Statistics Denmark. Danmarks Nationalbank subsequently gains access to the data via Statistics Denmark's researcher scheme, which is described in more detail below.

We collect this data from your pension company, bank or mortgage credit institution.


Land Registry data
Danmarks Nationalbank collects publicly available Land Registry data, including names and addresses and property data, title data and encumbrance data.

Processing of this data is necessary for the exercise of our official authority and performance of a task carried out in the public interest (Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR).

The data is processed for as long as required for the compilation of statistics.

We collect the data from the Land Registry.

Researcher and ministry scheme at Statistics Denmark
Danmarks Nationalbank has access to Statistics Denmark's researcher and ministry scheme, via which we can access data about firms and persons. Your name and CPR number will not appear from this data, and access takes place in accordance with Statistics Denmark's guidelines for use of data.

The data is included in Danmarks Nationalbank's financial statistics and analyses for internal and external use and can relate to e.g. analyses of household debt.
