Why does Danmarks Nationalbank ask about the public’s expectations for the economy?
Expectations for the future affect how the public spends, borrows and invests money now. Expectations therefore impact the overall development of the Danish economy. That is why Danmarks Nationalbank asks randomly selected members of the public about their expectations for the economy. The overall results of the survey will contribute to the knowledge on which Danmarks Nationalbank bases its analyses and forecasts of the Danish economy. The purpose of the survey is to learn about public expectations in general. This means that it's not what you as an individual have answered that is of interest to Danmarks Nationalbank. Your answers will always be treated confidentially.
