Low direct investments in 2023
There were relatively few large cross-border company acquisitions in 2023. Both Danish companies’ direct equity investments abroad and foreign direct equity investments in Denmark were therefore relatively modest in 2023 compared to recent years. The sale of SimCorp to Deutsche Börse accounted for the largest inward direct investment in 2023. Danish companies have overall large direct equity investments abroad, corresponding to around 60 per cent of GDP. Foreign companies’ direct equity investments in Denmark are around the half.
