Investments in foreign securities increased again in 2025
The total value of all Danish investors’ foreign portfolio investments increased by kr. 489 billion in 2025. As a result, investments in foreign securities reached kr. 5,779 billion at the end of the year. The increase in total value in 2025 results from net purchases of kr. 294 billion and price gains, particularly on US shares, which exceeded exchange losses on, among others, American shares and bonds. Danish investors purchased both foreign shares and investment fund shares, while bonds were sold. The share purchases of kr. 189 billion were record high. Around one-third of the purchased shares were European, while more than 40 per cent were American.
