Financial wealth and debt
Financial accounts are a compilation of the financial wealth and debt of Danish companies and households by sector. The statistics follow current international and European standards and are thus comparable across countries.
Financial wealth and debt (referred to in the statistics as assets and liabilities) are divided into different types of instruments, e.g. loans, deposits, shares, investment fund shares and bonds. The breakdown by sector shows the holdings and transactions of the different instruments, broken down by non-financial and financial corporations, general government, households and rest of the world.
The statistics on financial wealth and debt can provide insight into how companies are financed, among other insights. Have they issued shares or bonds or raised bank loans? And what does the composition of households’ net wealth actually look like?
