Insurance and pension companies invest large amounts in stocks
Danish insurance and pension companies have purchased listed stocks for kr. 109 billion to date in 2025. Compared to the total annual purchases in the previous 10 years, this purchase is the largest since 2015. The largest annual purchase to date was kr. 64 billion in 2018. The significant purchase of listed stocks in 2025 is financed, among other things, by the sale of bonds and positive net contributions from pension customers.

Purchase of both American and European stocks
The companies have primarily invested in American stocks. The purchase of American stocks has especially occurred from April onwards. In the first quarter of the year, insurance and pension companies sold American stocks for kr. 5 billion. The companies have collectively purchased American stocks for kr. 50 billion from January to July 2025. Among the largest American stocks that the companies have purchased in 2025 are Amazon, Synopsys, Chevron, Coca-Cola, and the green energy company GE Vernova. The companies have also bought European stocks, with the purchase of European stocks setting a record for the past 10 years. Among the European stocks that the companies have bought in 2025 are Novo Nordisk, Novonesis, Siemens, and BNP Paribas.
