Households’ investments in Danish investment funds surpass kr. 700 billion

Danish households had kr. 717 billion invested in Danish investment funds at the end of May 2026, the highest level on record. The value of these investments increased in April and May, driven mainly by large equity returns of around kr. 60 billion. In addition, households hold investments in foreign investment funds as well as in Danish and foreign individual shares and bonds.

Foreign investment funds as well as individual shares and bonds

Since 2025, households have purchased investment fund units in both Danish and foreign funds, while selling individual shares and bonds. As of May 2026, households held a total of kr. 143 billion in foreign investment funds, kr. 213 billion in foreign individual shares and bonds, and kr. 483 billion in Danish securities.
