Foreign investors hold fewer 30-year mortgage bonds
Foreign investors have reduced their holdings of Danish 30-year mortgage bonds. The foreign investors’ ownership share gradually fell from its peak about 3 years ago to around one third today. Seen over a longer period, however, the ownership share is relatively high. 10 years ago, it was below 20 per cent. The foreign ownership share is greatest for bonds with an interest rate of 1, 1.5 and 2 per cent, which overall increased towards the end of last year. Investors in the euro area account for around two third of Danish 30-year mortgage bonds abroad.
