Danes’ use of cash continues to decline
The use of cash in society is changing. Fewer payments are made using cash, and most citizens prefer to pay by card or mobile phone. Despite this, an increasing number of citizens have cash holdings. This is primarily because more people see cash as an important supplement in situations where physical payment cards or mobile payments do not work, which is in line with Danmarks Nationalbank’s recommendations to citizens.
