Index-Linked Mortgage Bonds
The market for index-linked bonds is considered in relation to the bonds' previous exemption from real-interest tax and the requirement that they be used to finance subsidised housing. This requirement has lapsed, while newly issued index-linked bonds will be tax-liable. The market for index-linked bonds is expected to disappear.
