New Capital-Adequacy Rules for Banks
The Basle Committee has submitted proposed new standards for consultation. The proposal emphasises three factors that supplement each other: minimum capital requirements, supervisory review process and market discipline. The new standards are expected to be implemented in national legislation in the EU member states in 2004.
