The Stability and Growth Pact – Status in 2002
Most of the EU member states comply with the Stability and Growth Pact in 2002, despite the slowdown in growth, although certain member states have problems. The EU member states taken as one are not expected to comply with the central provision of the Stability and Growth Pact for the government bud-gets to be close to balance or in surplus until 2004.
