An overview of Danmarks Nationalbank’s Expectations Survey
Danmarks Nationalbank’s Expectations Survey (Nationalbankens forventningsundersøgelse, NFU) provides monthly, forward-looking evidence on the views of Danish households regarding inflation, income, interest rates, spending, housing and labour markets. Expectations in these areas are focal to central bank mandates as they affect real economic outcomes, including inflation. Conducted since October 2024, this novel survey fills an information gap about quantitative expectations in Denmark. Aggregate statistics from the NFU will be published monthly from October 2026. This Staff Paper documents the design, sampling, data collection, weighting and aggregation of the NFU, and provides initial results.
