Central government finance and debt

The statistics for central government finance and debt contain monthly statements of the Danish central government’s current financing requirements and borrowing as well as the central government’s total debt.

The central government debt indicates the total debt of the Danish central government to creditors. Central government debt is compiled as the nominal value of the central government’s domestic and foreign debt (gross debt) less the balance on the central government’s account with Danmarks Nationalbank, the assets of the government funds and bonds for financing social housing.
