The final deadline for exchanging 1000-krone banknotes and older banknotes was 31 May 2026, and Danmarks Nationalbank's banknote exchange points are now closed for new exchanges.
If you have an ongoing case that was registered at a banknote exchange point or digitally before the deadline, you will be contacted by FOREX. You will be given an appointment to attend one of the banknote exchange points in person so that your case can be finalised.
Do not go to Danmarks Nationalbank or one of the bank's banknote exchange points without a prior appointment for submission.
As there have been many contacts in the period leading up to the deadline, it may take up to 90 days before FOREX replies.
